Our pick: Edifier R1280DB Bookshelf Speakers

A pair of powered bookshelf speakers with Bluetooth and wired inputs, such as Edifier’s R1280DB, that plug straight into a turntable, TV or computer.

Why it makes a great gift

They sound far better than any single smart speaker for the price, and they connect a record player or TV without a separate amplifier.
